United Net Services
United Net Services (UNS1) is a Network Marketing company that was created
to be the marketing arm of Quixinet Inc. United Net Services provides the
opportunity for individuals to purchase Internet Kiosk minutes that can be used
by the customer in one of many locations or resold to the public by NetQwest
(see www.UNS1.com for more details).
Rising Tide Consulting's staff implemented the infrastructure and created the
application for this company - delivering it all in less than one month. The
site registered more than 4,000 users during the first 90 days.
Quixinet
Quixinet, formerly Net Tech Investments, owns and operates a network of
Internet Web Phone Kiosks. These machines consist of desktop computers, 2 LCD
displays, a keyboard and mouse combination, an IP phone, wireless networking, a
video camera, microphone and speakers. Rising Tide Consulting (RTC) provided
both the technical skills and IT leadership necessary for this project. RTC
assisted with the selection of hardware and software products from multiple
vendors and combined them to create a repeatable configuration and process for
implementing and managing these systems. In addition to this integration work,
RTC has provided the custom server side applications and financial (both credit
card and cash reader) processing that is critical to the kiosk functionality.
Rising Tide Consulting delivered the project on time despite the fact that
these kiosks broke new ground, combining more functionality than others in the
industry (audio/video mail and IP phone calls) with attached advertising
screens that created a second revenue stream for Quixinet. The quality of the
implemetnation has paid great dividends to this organizaton as is evident in
this quote from a Quixinet representative " "Our initial installations are all
planned for South Florida, but we are receiving many inquiries from across the
country. We are able to install 500 kiosks per month at this time, but with so
many of inquiries arriving daily we are planning to ramp up to 1000 per month
by September."
MCCGolf
MCCGolf (My Country Club) is a start-up online expansion of a traditional
country club that came to Rising Tide Consulting for IT Strategy, Development
and Integration assistance. The staff at Rising Tide Consulting helped MCCGolf
to create a 3 year plan for accomplishing the full goal of providing the
private country club experience online. To create this plan RTC analyzed their
financial backing, the state of the Internet Commerce economy (opportunity),
and the competitive landscape. In the first phase of this plan Rising Tide
Consulting provided a simple and inexpensive website to support their physical
country club members (www.mccgolf.org). With this completed, RTC implemented
the online pro shop as a store in the www.firstcoaststores.com regional mall
that is operated by RTC's electronic commerce practice. This site has been
profitable from the first month online. In the future, as the economy rebounds,
RTC will work with MCCGolf to further develop the virtual country club concept
- stay tuned for products from the new formed RTC Golf division.
